Remains of Gurdwara in Bahria Town Lahore (2021)

Bahria Town Lahore is a newly developed housing society that started its construction and infrastructure activities two decades back. The land on which the present locality of  Bahria Town is constructed its major area belongs to a Sikh Sardar named Tara Singh, before the pre-partition of united Hindustan. In the vicinity of Bahria Town still, three villages are present, the owners of them did not sell their land to Bahria Town authorities. These village's names are  Fateh Singh Wala, Bhalagil, and lakhowal. These villages were Sikh majority areas before pre-partition and one can still found many old buildings in their premises.  

Bhalagil and Bahria town is separated by a boundary wall.  Just outside of this wall a dilapidated architecture still standing on the property of Bahria town. It is said that the building was a Gurdwara and was constructed by Tara Singh before pre-partition. The Gurdwara was a 20 x 40 ft rectangular building that is now in total ruins. Foundations exposed, arched walls collapsed, wooden beams fall and part of the floor dug by treasure hunters. On some portions of the walls, fresco paintings pattern can be seen. No further information has found regarding the history of this place. 

 How good it could be if Baharia town authorities have taken some steps to restore this site of great historical importance.
